Dr. Kirti Nagpal’s lifelong interest in science and medicine, as well as a passion for helping others, led her to become a physician. “Being a doctor and having the ability to alleviate people’s suffering really adds meaning and purpose to my life,” she explains. “For me, it’s really an honor to be able to take care of people.”
A pediatrician at ReadyMED PLUS, Dr. Nagpal sees a wide variety of clinical cases each day. “It might range from a simple ear infection to chronic headaches or even a musculoskeletal problem. Every day in urgent care, working with a diverse range of clinical cases keeps the day both challenging and exciting yet deeply fulfilling at the same time.”
A pediatric specialist, Dr. Nagpal has a special interest in working with children. “I really do love working with children, they are so sweet and honest,” she explains. “Before I came to ReadyMED, I worked in primary care and was able to see children grow from the first days of their lives to young adults heading off to college. I was able to partner with parents throughout that rewarding journey – supporting, guiding and celebrating each stage of development.”
Dr. Nagpal believes that the best medical care happens through a combination of medical expertise and genuine kindness and compassion. “I recognize that people come to our offices when they are not feeling so great emotionally and physically,” she explains. “So, it’s important to be as kind and compassionate to them as you can. Small acts of kindness go a long way in alleviating the spirits of my patients who are getting seen for their illness no matter how big or small. Studies have shown that fostering trust and care with the patient improves health outcomes by directly effecting the physiological healing process.”
In her spare time, Dr. Nagpal enjoys creative writing and is learning Indian classical dance. She also likes to paint in acrylics and go for long walks with her beagle.
